Hotel Saranac | Saranac Lake New York Wedding Film

We met in the spring of 2015 working at a restaurant called Delicious Heights. Shortly after that we both attended community college and then Rutgers University together. Since then we have shared many exciting memories – Trips to various cities across the country, acquiring our 4 cats, decorating our home, and living our lives together.

How did you meet?

We met working at a restaurant called Delicious Heights.

What was your favorite memory of your wedding day?

Our favorite memory was standing up in front of all our guests and exchanging vows.

What were the main influences behind the style of your wedding, its location and your venue choice for your big day?

Saranac Lake is a special place for us that we have been going to for many years now. We knew we wanted it there so we could share this important place with all our loved ones. The main style for the wedding was from inspiration taken from old school Jazz clubs, eclectic antiques, and Celestial influenced themes.

What would your top tips be for somebody planning their wedding?

1. An open bar is a must.
2. If the wedding is destination/semi destination, try and keep the event spaces and lodging in walkable distances. It adds an exciting sense of community getting to see everyone in town.
3. The right music is important for setting a good atmosphere, so take your time picking a DJ or Band.

What made you decide to hire a wedding videographer? Any tips for couples on the fence for a film?

We have seen several hand held cam style wedding videos that really caught our eye aesthetically and we wanted something like that to capture our big day. Additionally, we wanted something that was not just still photos. The videos allow us to get to see and hear the memories with our guests speaking and in motion. For a couple on the fence, a short several minute long video is often easier to view more often than the whole book of wedding photos.

What did you like about working with me?

Our videographer was very kid and did not get in our way at all. All communication before hand and during the event was clear and went smoothly. We also really enjoyed that option of the additional cameras for our guests to use.
