Realized There Was Something More

Mandi & Sarah

Old Carter Barn, Wyoming County, Pennsylvania

Our story is one of love, family, and finding joy in the everyday magic of life. What began as two people discovering each other’s hearts has grown into a home filled with laughter, children, and shared dreams. From the beginning, our relationship has been about building a life filled with joy, authenticity, and care. Blending our families has been a beautiful part of our journey, and our wedding was a true reflection of who we are—full of love, community, and a touch of fairytale magic.

How did you meet?

We met when Mandi was helping run a summer youth program at a church in the Bronx. Sarah brought her church youth group to the program to volunteer in ministering to the children. We instantly became friends and stayed in touch from different states and through COVID, eventually allowing our friendship to bloom into romance, then love.

What was your favorite memory of your wedding day?

There are too many to count, but we’ll try!
Mandi: My favorite memory is watching Sarah dance with our boys.
Sarah: My favorite memory is performing our first karaoke song as a married couple.

What were the main influences behind the style of your wedding, its location and your venue choice for your big day?

Our wedding was based on our favorite off-Broadway show, Between the Lines. We knew we wanted a charming location near a body of water and Old Carter Barn gave us a destination-like wedding pretty close to home.

What would your top tips be for somebody planning their wedding?

Be organized and detailed! We found a great planner book that helped us lay out our details exactly how we wanted them. We printed out the pages as needed, created a binder, and got a group of trustworthy group of friends to be part of our set up crew.
Another tip is to make the day about you and your partner! While it’s nice to accommodate guests, the happiness of you two (and children if applicable) ranks highest.

What made you decide to hire a wedding videographer? Any tips for couples on the fence for a film?

We knew we wanted to capture the special moments to relive them again and again. We believe still photos wouldn’t quite capture everything, so video was an important thing for us.

What did you like about working with me?

Gavin is super easy to work with! He’s flexible and has a way of helping the couple feel calm with his great sense of humor. It didn’t feel like he was forcing any shots, he just blended in. We’ll definitely reach out again next time we need video!
