After our families knowing each other for years, we met on the first day of 6th grade. Almost exactly 20 years before we got married. We spent the next 12 years being the best of friends and never leaving each others lives through high school and college. Then in 2016, we were both living back in Auburn and decided that we wanted to commit more of our lives together and started dating! After buying a house and adopting our dog Juni,  we felt ready to take the next step and get married to continue to build on our 8 relationship.

How did the two of you meet?

We met on the first day of 6th grade, East Middle School in Auburn! 

What was your favorite memory of your wedding day?

Our favorite memory of the wedding day was standing at the alter with one of our best friends up there with us officiating our forever union.  We couldn’t stop looking into each others eyes, listening to Emily’s beautiful words, and crying!! There was also an unexpected plane that  kept flying over us, making for such a special few minutes to kick off our marriage! 

What were the main influences behind the style of your wedding, its location and your venue choice for your big day?

We wanted to be outside and close to where we grew up! We absolutely love upstate NY in the summer and Hobbit Hollow felt like the perfect place to represent where we grew up and live, which is also where our love story began. We wanted things to feel light, bright, and comfortable! Like every guest could imagine living here or have reminders of their time spent in this area. 

What would your top tips be for somebody planning their wedding?

Fully trusting your vendors!! All of the stress of wedding planning falls aside when you trust the professionals you’ve hired to do their job. Throughout the planning process, but especially the day of we felt nothing more than excitement because we knew things would go off without a hitch with the team we had! 

What made you decide to hire a wedding videographer? Any tips for couples on the fence for a film?

A videographer was one of the first things we chose to book for our wedding after hearing from so many previous couples that their one regret was not having one! We have always loved wedding videography but can’t wait to watch ours for years to come and be able to relive our perfect day over and over!
