What is your story?
Charlie and I met post-college (even though we went to the same college and graduated the same year). We had plenty of mutual friends, so we were destined to meet at one point or another. We initially met in August of 2018, started officially dating in January of 2019, and have been inseparable every since! We have been through amazing highs and the lowest of lows together, which really makes us each other’s rocks. We got engaged December 2022, bought our first home together in Austin, Texas in March 2023 and adopted our pup Tweety shortly after in October! The three of us are a happy little family living out our happy Texas lives rooting on our Texas Longhorns any chance we get.
How did the two of you meet?
We met while I was living in Las Vegas and Charlie was enjoying his summer break after his first year of law school in Dallas. He was on a boys trip to Las Vegas with some of our mutual friends, so I was able to meet up with them since I was living in the area at the time. We met on an August summer night and have been in contact ever since. I moved back to Dallas that following November, and the rest was history. We have been together ever since!
What was your favorite memory of your wedding day?
The love!!! I’ve heard some people describe our wedding day as a “love fest”, which makes me swell with pride and joy. There was so much love to be had and to be shared, between family and friends and everyone around us. The vendors were lovely, the band was amazing, and the love was loving- that’s for sure! Also, personally a core memory of mine (as the bride) was having Charlie sing to me on stage. When we first met, he made a song about me (that lives on Spotify today! “Cool” by Pistachio Gods- check it out.) How cool is it to see your groom live out his ultimate rockstar fantasy by singing on stage to you? Absolutely amazing.
What were the main influences behind the style of your wedding, its location and your venue choice for your big day?
The venue was the same location as my sister’s wedding, which made it all the more special. Canandaigua is a sacred place to my family, and Charlie now as well. It’s home to us all, and I wanted to share that home with our extended friends and family. When we talk about Canandaigua, people who attended our wedding “get it” now. They understand the beauty of the Finger Lakes and why we chose to get married right on the water. It felt like us, and the day was a perfect depiction of our relationship. The bright pops of colors, happy smiles, and love around us truly made for the perfect wedding day. It was magic!
What would your top tips be for somebody planning their wedding?
Live in the moment, have fun, don’t stress, and take in all the love!!! It’s your day to be the center of attention with the love of your life. Live it up- it’s so worth it.
What made you decide to hire a wedding videographer? Any tips for couples on the fence for a film?
I wanted to be sure all of the memories were captured not just in photos, but on film as well. There is something about capturing movement, voices, people celebrating and dancing in live time, that makes your wedding day so real forever. Any time you get the chance to rewatch a moment from your wedding, you’re teleported back to being with that exact group of people on the happiest day of your life. Any chance you can get to capture these moments is worth it. Hire the photographer, hire the videographer. You will never, ever regret it.
What did you like about working with me?
Gavin was such a joy to work with! He was easy going, creative, professional, and personable. He made the entire film and videography process super easy before our wedding day, and on the actual day as well! He kept everything super organized for us before so we didn’t have to worry about a single thing day of. HIGHLY recommend for all Western NY weddings!
