👋 Hi, I’m Gavin.
Watch this first.
What I’ve Learned After 15 Years of Weddings
I’ve been lucky enough to spend more than 15 years filming weddings.
In that time, I’ve seen just about everything.
Barns.
Backyards.
Ballrooms.
Mountaintops.
Tiny backyard ceremonies with twenty guests.
Celebrations with hundreds of family and friends.
I’ve filmed weddings in pouring rain, bright sunshine, and a few snowstorms.
Every family is different.
Some are loud.
Some are quiet.
Some laugh through the ceremony.
Some cry before the music even starts.
Some dance until the lights come on.
Some would rather sit around a fire telling stories.
Every wedding has its own personality.
And honestly…
I wouldn’t want it any other way.
✦
But after all these years, I’ve noticed something.
The couples who seem to enjoy their wedding the most all have one thing in common.
Not the biggest budget.
Not the fanciest venue.
Not the perfect weather.
They simply let themselves enjoy the day.
They laugh when something doesn’t go according to plan.
They steal a quiet minute together.
They hug their grandparents a little longer.
They spend more time looking at each other…
…than worrying about the timeline.
Those are the weddings people remember.
And those are almost always the weddings that make the best films.
✦
That’s what I want for you.
I’m not there to turn your wedding into a movie set.
I’m there to make the day feel easy.
To blend in.
To help when I can.
To work alongside your other vendors.
To quietly capture everything as it naturally unfolds.
Because years from now, I don’t just want you to remember what your wedding looked like.
I want you to remember how much fun you had living it.
✦
“But we are so awkward on camera…”
You’re definitely not alone. Almost every couple tells me this before their wedding.
The good news is, you don’t need to know how to pose or “perform.” My approach is about 90% documentary, which means I’m quietly capturing the day as it naturally unfolds. Most of the time, you’ll be so busy enjoying your wedding and spending time with your favorite people that you’ll hardly notice I’m there.
When we do interact, like while you’re getting ready or during portraits, I keep things simple and relaxed. I might guide you toward better light by a window or suggest an easy prompt that gets you talking, laughing, or simply enjoying each other. Nothing feels forced, and nothing is overcomplicated.
I also believe a big part of my job is making people feel comfortable. I’m naturally friendly, easygoing, and before long, you will feel like I’m another guest rather than someone following you around with a camera. That helps everyone relax, from you to your wedding party and family.
By the end of the day, my hope is that you don’t remember being filmed, you remember having an incredible wedding. I’ll take care of capturing everything else.

Questions Couples Ask
Should we do a first look?
Honestly? Do whatever feels right for you.
There is no wrong answer, and either way, I’ll be there to capture it. Some couples love the tradition of seeing each other for the first time walking down the aisle, and some couples love having a private moment together beforehand. My job is not to tell you how to do your wedding, it’s to help you have the best day possible and document it as it naturally happens.
That being said, there are definitely some benefits to doing a first look. From both personal and professional experience, one of the biggest benefits for a first look is that it gives you more time to enjoy your wedding. You can get your photos and video moments done earlier, which means when your friends and family arrive for cocktail hour, you can be there with them instead of feeling like you’re missing part of your own celebration. It’s one of the best opportunities to capture your family and friends naturally together too. Without a first look, this is often when you’re still taking portraits, meaning you may miss those hugs, laughs, and conversations happening around you with the people who traveled to celebrate with you.
A first look also gives you a private moment together without 100+ eyes watching. You get to talk, laugh, hug, and take in the moment with your partner. Then later, you still get that emotional feeling of seeing each other walk down the aisle. It becomes two special moments instead of one.
I know this personally too. After being married for 12 years, I understand how meaningful those moments are and how quickly the day goes by.
But at the end of the day, this is your wedding. Whitchever you choose, I’ll be there to capture it and help make the day feel easy, natural, and stress-free.

My goal is simple: help you feel comfortable, have an amazing day, and create a film that feels like you.
A few fun facts about me…
I’ve been behind a camera for over 25 years (I started on VHS tapes!).
I perform improv comedy every Friday, so making people feel comfortable comes pretty naturally.
I love camping, hiking, and just about anything outdoors.
I have a dog named Rondi and a cat named Zsa Zsa.
One of my favorite parts of filming weddings is getting to meet new people. By the end of the day, I hope you feel like I was another friend celebrating with you.

Got some questions?
01.
What makes your wedding films different from other videographers?
My goal is not just to record your wedding day, but to tell the story of how it felt.
I pay attention to the little things that make a film stand out, the emotion, the lighting, the background, the composition, and finding the perfect moments from the perfect angle. I use natural light whenever possible and focus on creating beautiful, intentional shots without making your day feel staged.
I also believe audio is just as important as the visuals. From your vows and speeches to optional interviews where you can share your story in your own words, I want your film to sound as amazing as it looks. Add in a smooth process, great communication, and making sure you feel comfortable every step of the way, and you get an experience that is just as enjoyable as the final film.
02.
Can we customize everything?
Absolutely.
Every wedding is different, so I offer options that allow you to build an experience that fits your day. Whether you want something added that isn’t listed on the website, a specific moment captured, or a combination of different services, just ask.
If you have something special in mind, I’m always happy to talk through ideas and figure out the best way to make it happen.
03.
Do you offer custom packages or discounts if we are on a tight budget?
I completely understand that every couple has a different budget and different priorities when planning their wedding.
While I don’t offer discounts, I do have different options depending on what experience you’re looking for. You can choose from a traditional cinematic wedding film, or explore a more nostalgic camcorder-style option, either by having me professionally capture it or by choosing the Film Your Own experience.
My goal is to help you find the option that makes the most sense for your wedding and your budget. And if I’m not the right fit financially, that’s completely okay too, I truly appreciate you considering me and want you to find the filmmaker that feels right for you.
04.
Why is high-end wedding filmmaking so much more expensive than traditional video?
The biggest difference is the approach. Traditional wedding video can be focused on simply documenting what happened, while my goal is to create a cinematic film that captures how your wedding day felt.
A lot goes into creating a high-end wedding film beyond filming the day itself. From intentionally capturing the best lighting, composition, and moments, to carefully selecting the right audio, music, pacing, editing, and color grading, every detail is considered.
When you invest in a wedding film, you’re not just paying for someone to show up with a camera. You’re investing in the experience, creativity, and hundreds of hours that go into creating a film that feels personal, polished, and uniquely yours.
05.
What happens if you get sick or there is an emergency on our wedding day?
Thankfully, this is has never happened, but I have a plan in place.
In the unlikely event that I cannot personally film your wedding, I have trusted professional filmmaker friends I can call on to step in and capture your day. Your wedding film is still handled with the same care and standards you booked me for.
06.
Are you fully insured and able to work with our venue?
Yes.
I carry professional liability insurance and can provide any documentation your venue or planner requires. I regularly work with venues, planners, photographers, and other wedding professionals to make sure everything is handled smoothly before your wedding day.
My goal is to make this part easy for you so you can focus on everything else that comes with planning your celebration.
