Everything That’s To Come

Cass & Matt

The Inn at West Settlement | Roxbury New York Wedding Film

We met at Ohio State when we were both still in college after being good friends for our second and third years – despite Matt moving to Arizona for work after graduation and Cassandra moving home to Philadelphia for law school, we made it work and eventually Matt joined the Dulas in Pennsylvania. After Cassandra graduated from law school, she had a job offer in London and Matt in his infinite flexibility said, “Let’s do it!” A year after moving we got engaged and two years after that we had our big day!

How did the two of you meet?

Our mutual friend – shoutout to Tim Brandes –  was randomly assigned Matt as a roommate in his second year at Ohio State. Tim and Cassandra had known each other from class, and when Cassandra and her roommates threw a housewarming party for their new off campus house, Tim asked if he could bring his new roommate. The rest was history!

What was your favorite memory of your wedding day?

Definitely the dance floor – hard to beat drinking and dancing with all of our favorite people for hours on end!

What were the main influences behind the style of your wedding, its location and your venue choice for your big day?

It’s very rare for us to have everyone together – we’re blessed with cool friends and family that live literally all over the world – and the most important thing for us was to have a few days where we could spend quality time with whoever was able to join us. To us, this meant a relaxed schedule, a venue where everyone was treated like family, and a beautiful place that people would enjoy spending time in!

What would your top tips be for somebody planning their wedding?

You’re planning a big party for your favorite people – don’t take it too seriously and center your planning around having fun, whatever that means for you and yours.

What made you decide to hire a wedding videographer? Any tips for couples on the fence for a film?

We really wanted to make sure we had lots of ways to remember how special the day was, and we thought a film would be a really good way to make that happen. Once we decided that we also wanted to do private vows, we knew that recording the key moments from the day was a must. The key seems to be capturing literally as much of what’s going on as possible, so for people on the fence, you might regret not getting a film, but you probably won’t regret getting one 🙂

What did you like about working with me?

Gavin was phenomenal from start to finish – the calls leading up to the wedding were informative and helpful, and most of all he always made it feel like he cared about us as people. He asked questions about what we’d been up to, how things were going, and generally wanted to get to know us ahead of the big day. On the day of the wedding, Gavin continued to be nothing but great – he was there when we needed him, integrated seamlessly into the wider group of vendors, working well with our photographers and the venue team, and made it easy to do the things we worried would be uncomfortable (i.e., reading letters we wrote to each other!) – Matt hates being recorded and he loved working with Gavin, a testament to how great he was!

Let’s Raise A Glass To The Keenans! | Emerson Park Pavilion | Auburn, New York Wedding Film | Meg and Mike

Early on, we bonded over our shared love of practicing the “spirited” parts of our Irish heritage. On most Wednesdays you can find us at our favorite Irish pub’s weekly trivia night. On question 13 the pub pauses trivia questions to do an Irish toast complete with Irish whisky. Slainte!
We’re both longtime Buffalo Bills fans and enthusiastically cheer them on every game either from our couch or in person at the Ralph – no matter the weather!
We share the mentality that life is too short to take too seriously and will never pass up an opportunity to dress up like idiots.
Like every child in the North Country, Mike practically came out of the womb wearing skates and has been playing hockey since he can remember. Meg crossed off a bucket list item when she signed up for an adult learn-to-play-hockey program in early 2020. Even though we’re at very different skill levels, we enjoy cheering each other on and even playing together every once in awhile!
In case you haven’t noticed – we have a dog! Boomer is 80% cotton ball, 20% Napoleon and 100% our sweet, spoiled boy. He brings joy and laughter to our lives and we love him to pieces.
We both love to travel and each did a fair bit of it before we met each other. We’ve been lucky enough to travel to Hawaii and Banff, Canada together and are headed to Tanzania and Zanzibar next month for our honeymoon!
    The Proposal:
After some hint dropping by Meg (subtlety varies based on who you ask) Mike popped the question on Saturday morning December 18, 2021! Mike had a dog tag made that said “will you marry me”, put it on Boomer’s collar and waited for Meg to notice. When she finally did, Mike produced the most beautiful ring Meg has ever seen. After saying, “is this real?!”, once or twice Meg followed it up with “Yes of course!”

Soul Mate Through and Through | Wolf Oak Acres | Oneida New York Wedding Film | Holly + Ben

Ben grew up in Bradford, PA and Holly grew up in Cazenovia, NY.  When Holly was in her senior year at St. Bonaventure University, the owner of a marketing agency in Bradford reached out looking for writers to intern. Holly took the gig, and in May of 2018 moved to Bradford full-time to work at the agency after graduating. In July, one of Holly’s bosses (sensing her friendlessness after moving) invited her to a Fourth of July picnic at Allegany State Park with his family and friends. Lo and behold, that boss was Ben’s brother, Josh. We met that fateful day and began to form a friendship.

In the years following, our friendship grew as we made a lot of fun memories together. [It is here we must importantly mention how almost all of these lifelong memories included having Ben’s sister, Heather, by our side. Those priceless years of non-stop fun and trips and traditions are something we wouldn’t trade for the whole world, and we’re so lucky to have Heather in our lives.] We began to swap interests as we spent more time together — Ben’s infectious love of professional wrestling and campy slashers rubbed off on Holly, and Holly taught Ben about the world of great wine and getting beat in Spades.
In late 2020, our connection became irrefutable. When we were in a room together, it was like two magnets. We began dating and building our future. After we moved in together, it was so fun to explore the new interests that arose: We began an annual vegetable garden and learned new recipes to cook with our harvest, we adopted Wilson and nursed him from death’s door to full health, we re-discovered our mutual love of reading and got library cards.
On July 24, 2021 Ben proposed to Holly at 5:00 AM after we jumped into Willow Bay together at sunrise. On that day, we were hosting a seafood boil party for both of our families so that everyone could meet for the first time. We got to bask in the feeling of being newly engaged surrounded by our family and close friends.
On October 14, 2022 we got married and couldn’t be more excited to start our lives together as a little family — us and our two cats, Wilson and Wasabi.

  • Meet You at the Altar | Turning Stone Resort and Casino | Vernon New York Wedding Film | Annie and Nick

    It all started in 2015.
A true modern day love story that started with a simple “swipe right” on a well-known dating app.
Nick and Annie were both in college at the time; Nick attending Utica College and Annie attending Le Moyne College in Syracuse. That night, Nick was in Syracuse shopping and stumbled upon Annie’s profile and just like the name of the mall Nick was at, it was “destiny” that their paths crossed.
After a few weeks of getting to know each other, Nick found himself back in Syracuse taking Annie out on their first date. It was an immediate connection; the guy that everyone describes as quiet couldn’t stop talking with Annie. Both knew this was something special, but had no idea just how incredible it would become!
Annie and Nick began a relationship that was built on the foundation of friendship, trust, and true love. Through everything life threw at them, they were by each other’s side. They experienced the highest highs and lowest lows together and continued to grow as individuals and as a couple.
They went on so many adventures where life-long memories were made. From Boston to San Diego, Annie and Nick have truly have been blessed to experience it all. Nick has shared with Annie his love of the Red Sox and Raiders and Annie taught him that no meal is complete without dessert!
After a cross country drive in Annie’s Jeep with their two English Bulldogs, Coco and Chanel, in the backseat, Nick and Annie found themselves in California; first in Santa Barbara and, a year later, in San Diego. It was here that Nick asked Annie’s dad for his blessing, got down on one knee and asked Annie to marry him! Just when they thought they couldn’t love each other anymore, they began preparing for husband and wife and felt their love and bond grow even stronger!
Nick and Annie are soulmates; the ying to the other’s yang. Where one lacks, the other provides. When one is down, the other is lifting them up. They are best friends and look forward to a lifetime full of laughter, happiness, and love!

Love Has Not Faded | The Kester Homestead | Memphis, New York Wedding Film | Corey + Sophia

Corey & I met when I was attending SUNY Oneonta as a freshman, and he was visiting a mutual friend. Corey had just graduated from Ithaca College. I saw him across the room at a house party/show and had to say hi, but was super nervous so I hatched a plan and finally got enough liquid courage in me to “accidentally” spill beer on his shoes for the chance to talk to him. My friends were ready to leave by that point so I didn’t get his full name or number, and thought it would end there. Luckily, he felt a spark too because he asked his other friends about me and found me on facebook. He continued visiting and we were long distance until we moved in together in Brooklyn, then we moved back upstate about 7 years ago and got engaged in 2019. We live a happy life here in New Hartford with our dog child, Fiona!

Always Find Our Way Back To One Another | Skaneateles Country Club | Skaneateles, New York Wedding Film | Brittany + Brian

Growing up down the street from one another we have always been a part of each other’s lives. From riding the same school bus together in 3rd grade to slow dancing at our 8th grade dance, there always seemed to be a spark between us. When high school rolled around, we had every class together and quickly became inseparable best friends. In college, although it seemed we had moved in separate directions, we found ourselves in the same city. There was always something pulling us together, whether we knew it or not. After reconnecting, reminiscing, and many belly laughs later, we realized we found friendship and love in the same person. We were always meant to be in each other’s lives and definitely more than just friends. We spent our first two years together in Skaneateles (our favorite town!) and weathered two years of long distance eventually landing us in Stamford, CT. One wiener dog later and so many amazing memories together, we are so excited to be married! This is just the beginning of our journey together, and we know now more than ever that we were destined to be together.
