We met during our first year of pediatric residency training in Cleveland, OH. We instantly hit it off and began dating a few months after we met. As it goes in medicine, we are now finishing up 3 years of long distance with Bryony in Houston, TX training in Pediatric Oncology and Ryan working in Ann Arbor as a Pediatric Palliative care physician. We are excited to move back together next summer to start the next phases of our careers and our married lives together with our 2 cats.

How did the two of you meet?

This is a contentious answer, because we still disagree on the day that we actually “met” each other. What Ryan thinks is the first time is when we met at a taco restaurant in Cleveland.  It was a meet and greet for our residency class where we all met each other for the first time, however Bryony has no recollection of ever meeting Ryan that day. Bryony thinks that the actual first time we met happened a few days later at a smaller get together of about ten of us. Bryony is right in her own way because that’s when we really began to hit it off. 

What was your favorite memory of your wedding day?

Chipmunks at the Gas Pump!!! We had no idea that Bryony’s Dad was going to dress up as a chipmunk. Aside from that, we loved our ceremony and our personalized vows.

What were the main influences behind the style of your wedding, its location and your venue choice for your big day?

We absolutely love Bryony’s parents’ farm and house and couldn’t have asked for a more intimate place to celebrate.

What would your top tips be for somebody planning their wedding?

Delegate when you can and don’t skimp on things that are important for you.

What made you decide to hire a wedding videographer? Any tips for couples on the fence for a film?

We knew that the day would be a whirlwind and we would likely not remember a lot of it. We wanted to be able to have a keepsake for years to come to watch and be able to reminisce on one of the best days of our lives!
