Peaks and Valleys | The Hayloft on the Arch | Vernon Center, New York Wedding Film | Hannah + Anthony

What is your story?

Anthony and I have been together over 8 years. We tried to get married last year but, you know COVID. So in January we finally had enough and we ran off to the Adirondacks and we eloped. Even though that day was perfect shared just between Anthony and I (and a photographer to get all the sappy moments) it wasn’t the same without our family and friends around. So here we are a few months later doing this whole thing again surrounded by all the people we love.

How did the two of you meet?

Anthony and I met 8 and a half years ago in a training room in college. He played baseball and I played softball. There was an instant connection and after some light stalking by Anthony we started dating. Since that day we have been basically inseparable.

What was your favorite memory of your wedding day?

I think the best moment was reading the letter that Anthony wrote me. It was such a perfect, quiet, and private moment on such a hectic day and I am SOOO glad that we did it.

What were the main influences behind the style of your wedding, it’s location and your venue choice for your big day?

We had found the venue (the Hayloft on the Arch) years ago on Pinterest and had our hearts set even before we got engaged. We visited shortly after getting engaged and booked it then and there. Anthony and I are simple people with simple taste, we wanted a low key country-ish wedding, good food great friends, and a hell of a good time.

What would your top tips be for somebody planning their wedding?

BE ORGANIZED! and book vendors early! Get a book for everything wedding! Don’t wait till the last minute to do ANYTHING. Have a plan, a back-up plan, and a plan C, because something will go wrong. Having a detailed itinerary helped so much on the big day and the days leading up too. We had everything planned months in advance and were in constant contact with our vendors so everyone knew what was happening, when, and it left us the week before our wedding to just relax and enjoy time with the family that was coming into town. Be choosey with who you work with and find the best, we did 🙂 and it made our day amazing. Overall even though its stressful and crazy, enjoy it, you only get to do it once. And remember not to take the stress out on your vendors or spouse they are going through it with you, so be kind to everyone who is helping you make your vision come true.

What made you decide to hire a wedding videographer? Any tips for couples on the fence for a film?

A family friend got married in 2019 and shared their wedding film with us, we sobbed. That was it was had to book one. Then we found Gavin and his films and that was it we couldn’t not have him. Our advice is DO IT, take a night watch the other couples films feel what they make you feel and imagine that you and your partner, your moments, your letters, your first dance and then book!
