This Great Day

Wendy & Aaron

La Tourelle Hotel & Spa | Ithaca New York Wedding Film

We’ve been together for 3 years. Met in steamboat, lived in Denver, skied together every weekend that first winter together. Moved in together during Covid (& flourished during that time). Proposed back in steamboat. A few months later, Aaron deployed for almost a year and when he came back, we started our next adventure in Virginia.
Every stage feels like a restart to the honeymoon. If we laugh 1/10 of the amount, we will be in a good spot!

How did the two of you meet?

Our journey began in the Old Town Steamboat Hotsprings. We were there with different groups of friends, when Aaron struck up a conversation with me and they quickly realized they were both from New York, loved to ski, and were both athletic & quite competitive. The next night was spent dancing at the top of gondola and ended with a snow ball fight (which I like to think I won). After that weekend, we have been together ever since!

What was your favorite memory of your wedding day?

There are a bunch – 1. the most heartfelt vows of all time 2. The first dance (during and being done given how nervous we were) 3. “Icing” Aaron and 4. Throwing the cake in each other’s face (repeat of the snowball fight). We honestly had the most perfect day so the little moments of being with your friends and family were amazing, especially dancing in the gazebo at the after party.

What were the main influences behind the style of your wedding, its location and your venue choice for your big day?

Ithaca is where Aaron is from, with many of our friends and family ranging from NYC to Boston so it was drivable for most, outside of a handful. We also had to go with fall given it is both of our favorite season, which lead to our fall theme wedding – bold red, orange colors – extremely beautiful. La Tourelle was an easy choice given the location, but mainly how easy they were to work with. And we were right – they are really the main people to thank for that day going so smoothly.

What would your top tips be for somebody planning their wedding?

Budget first, keep organized, do as much as you can prior to the week before so you have very little stress going into the wedding (which I did). Also – lean on people who have strengths where you don’t. I am very organized, but not very creative so I was trying to make the theme of the wedding for so long before I leaned on my artistic friends for help 🙂 Your friends want to help you!

What made you decide to hire a wedding videographer? Any tips for couples on the fence for a film?

I have seen friends video’s from their weddings. While pictures are awesome and you need them, there is something so real about the video that makes any person watching it feel like they are there.

Anything else you would like to share?

This was a really, really special day and the love that surrounded us was amazing – we are still feeling the high from that day. Our vendors, our family, our friends -everyone who was there touched us in the most incredible way. Honestly, the foundation that we built is because of what was built by all of them and everything that they have taught us, I just know that we’re going to last forever because of it. I thank them so much for being a part of our lives & celebrating this day with us.

Aaron – in a time where I gave up on love, you came up to me in the hot springs and believed we had something truly there. Thank you for never giving up and making me feel like I’m the most beautiful girl, every day. I love you! To the moon & back!

  • It’s Never Been Luck, It’s Always Been You | The Fitz | Syracuse New York Wedding Film | Kahssia + Radelle

Back in 2019, Kahssia was living in New Jersey but driving back to Syracuse every weekend because she was homesick. One weekend, she came home to go to an informal house party at her and Radelle’s mutual friend KJ’s house (KJ was also our super talented wedding photographer by the way).
Little did she know, Radelle was going to be there too. Now … Radelle and Kahssia had interacted a bit on Twitter before but nothing serious. At the kickback Radelle tweeted he wanted diner food and, sitting in the same room, Kahssia replied back his to his tweet agreeing that that did sound good.
At the function, Radelle could see that certain guests in attendance were getting uncomfortably close to Kahssia and he discreetly kept them out of Kahssia’s space for the night. She sub-tweeted him saying that she found the sense of protection attractive and he DM-ed to confirm it was him she was talking about. That day, they exchanged numbers.
Despite them texting very often, they didn’t actually get that diner food until a couple weeks later – when Radelle asked if Kahssia was still up for it and thankfully she was. It was by sheer luck that Radelle made it to the date too. He had just gotten off of work, showered, and had just enough time to grab a dozen roses right before the florist closed.

When Kahssia saw him walk in the diner with roses, she knew this was going to be more than just a friendly bite to eat … and as hard as she tried not to admit it – it was a good feeling. Kahssia and Radelle talked for hours … until the diner closed.
That still wasn’t enough time spent with one another though. They went on a date every day that week and each time they spent hours talking to one another. Between Texas Roadhouse, Tullys, Club 11, bowling, the movies … it was clear they were on the path towards something worthwhile.
These dates spanned across the week of Thanksgiving and eventually Kahssia had to go back to New Jersey for work. After she returned, she and Radelle talked daily – they’d start and end each day with messages to one another.
A little less than a month after they began talking, they made it official by becoming a couple … on December 4th, 2019.
And here they are, married 3 years later … on December 4th, 2022 at the diner where it all started.

  • Olive Juice You | Timber Banks Golf Club | Baldwinsville New York Wedding Film | Kristi and Mike

We met 5 years ago and instantly had a very intimate connection; having both previously been in long term relationships, we knew what we had felt different and with that said, things got serious very quickly. After a few months of spending time together, Kristi mentioned how perfect Mike’s backyard would be for a dog. At the time, Mike lived in a huge lake house with 3 other single guys and his younger, reckless sister– a post-grad frat house some would call it. Not two weeks after the dog comment, Mike Amazon-Prime’d (not actually, but the transaction was just as fast) a 9 week old Siberian husky to the lake house, and told Kristi she would need to be the primary care taker since he was always away for work. That led to Kristi moving into the aforementioned frat lake house, which turned into Kristi being the mom of the house- doing everyones laundry and making sure the beer cans were cleaned up before Monday rolled around. It wasn’t long before we moved into our first apartment, which then led to our second apartment, a town house, and just recently our forever home. Over the years we’ve spent together we have both grown up significantly, and have accomplished many of our goals both as individuals and together.

  • Meet You at the Altar | Turning Stone Resort and Casino | Vernon New York Wedding Film | Annie and Nick

    It all started in 2015.
A true modern day love story that started with a simple “swipe right” on a well-known dating app.
Nick and Annie were both in college at the time; Nick attending Utica College and Annie attending Le Moyne College in Syracuse. That night, Nick was in Syracuse shopping and stumbled upon Annie’s profile and just like the name of the mall Nick was at, it was “destiny” that their paths crossed.
After a few weeks of getting to know each other, Nick found himself back in Syracuse taking Annie out on their first date. It was an immediate connection; the guy that everyone describes as quiet couldn’t stop talking with Annie. Both knew this was something special, but had no idea just how incredible it would become!
Annie and Nick began a relationship that was built on the foundation of friendship, trust, and true love. Through everything life threw at them, they were by each other’s side. They experienced the highest highs and lowest lows together and continued to grow as individuals and as a couple.
They went on so many adventures where life-long memories were made. From Boston to San Diego, Annie and Nick have truly have been blessed to experience it all. Nick has shared with Annie his love of the Red Sox and Raiders and Annie taught him that no meal is complete without dessert!
After a cross country drive in Annie’s Jeep with their two English Bulldogs, Coco and Chanel, in the backseat, Nick and Annie found themselves in California; first in Santa Barbara and, a year later, in San Diego. It was here that Nick asked Annie’s dad for his blessing, got down on one knee and asked Annie to marry him! Just when they thought they couldn’t love each other anymore, they began preparing for husband and wife and felt their love and bond grow even stronger!
Nick and Annie are soulmates; the ying to the other’s yang. Where one lacks, the other provides. When one is down, the other is lifting them up. They are best friends and look forward to a lifetime full of laughter, happiness, and love!
