SUNY Oneonta is where it all began. In 2016, we became fast friends. While we were there, we both learned about our adventurous and creative sides. These were the things we learned to love most about each other.
In 2018, we packed up our belongings and moved cross country to Los Angeles. While we were in L.A., we got to explore the vast beauty that California had to offer, while both flourish within our respective careers. While we were there, we adopted our dog, Shelby Cobra Maranga-Jacobson (yes after the car).
In 2021, after a long evening of Mexican food and too much California sun, we got engaged. A few months later we packed up our bright Orange Subaru and moved back east to Atlanta, GA.
Ever since becoming friends in 2016, we have not lost our adventurous and creative sparks. We frequently explore new areas and try new hobbies. On July 31st, 2022, we officially became Mr. & Mrs. Maranga-Jacobson, which was our most creative and exciting adventure yet. Freya and Jack met in Chinese class at The University of Michigan in the fall of 2009. They would frequently study together and eat lunch together quickly becoming friends. In the fall of 2011 they started dating. After college, their individual pursuits took them all over the world and throughout U.S., but upstate New York brought them together just as the pandemic began. By December 2020 they were engaged and ready for their next adventure!

Sal’s Response: I met Annie at her sister’s wedding after a couple of failed attempts to meet up in New York City. We both ending up moving back to Rochester, NY and the rest is history!Annie’s Response: After several failed attempts to be set up while we both lived in NYC, we finally met in person at my sister’s wedding. By that time, we had both moved to Rochester, and over the following year, destiny worked it’s magic!

From ski trips to cruises, nights in cuddling the puppy, or hanging out in the lake, the adventures have been endless. Eric actually invited me on his annual sibling ski trip a month after knowing me. It was on this annual ski trip, two years later when Eric got down on one knee at the Domain Chandon winery in Napa, CA, and asked me to marry him. After laughing in his face because I didn’t think it was real, I said yes. From there, we started planning for a wedding in September 2020. As we all know how that played out, we had to postpone our big event. We decided that we would still get married surrounded by close family and friends and on our one-year anniversary host the wedding we had dreamed of and planned. Now two weddings, and one anniversary later we cannot wait to spend the rest of our lives together with our wonderful puppy Ollivander. I think everyone is glad they don’t have to hear about it anymore considering this event has been in the making since January 2019 (kidding – but seriously, it was a very extended wedding planning process).
