I first heard about Justin through a mutual friend on campus at Notre Dame. After we met, we started dating about one year later and did two years of long distance dating. After college before I moved to Charlotte to be with him! We got engaged in December 2018. Justin and I planned to get married in July 2020, but COVID forced us to postpone twice. We waited over 1,000 days to get married – it was so worth it!

How did the two of you meet?

Justin and I met at a B.O.B. concert on campus during spring of 2013 when our mutual friend introduced us. We didn’t start really talking until the following spring semester when we’d all watch Syracuse basketball games in his dorm room. Through that, playing intramural broomball together, and one night with friends at Club Fever, our relationship blossomed into more than just friends.  

What was your favorite memory of your wedding day?

I can’t pick just one. My first favorite is the moment I got to the end of the aisle of the church and hugged Justin after not seeing him all day. I had felt anxious all day about everything going as planned and in that moment, I then immediately felt all the nerves melt away and just felt such happiness. Words can’t even describe that moment other than I felt pure joy and relaxed completely. My second favorite memory is going up for traditional Notre Dame touchdown push-ups at the reception. As a lifelong ND fan and Notre Dame grad (along with Justin), there was nothing better than celebrating an ND football win at my wedding reception that way! 

What were the main influences behind the style of your wedding, its location and your venue choice for your big day?

We chose the ceremony venue based on my family history. My parents, grandparents, siblings, and aunts and uncles have all gotten married at Saint Patrick’s, and I couldn’t imagine not getting married there. We chose the venue based on size, the traditional look of the clubhouse, and how much the Turning Stone had to offer. Additionally, we didn’t have to do anything the day of the wedding – they handled it all, and it was just amazing how beautiful the entire reception turned out. 

What would your top tips be for somebody planning their wedding?

My number one tip would be to make sure you plan your wedding with all the little details and pieces that make YOU happy, not anyone else. We chose music, food, drinks, ceremony style and music, and little details based on things that made US happy. In the end, I truly felt that this made our day even more special, because everything we could’ve imagined our wedding having came to fruition perfectly. 

What made you decide to hire a wedding videographer? Any tips for couples on the fence for a film?

We spoke with numerous friends who’ve gotten married (with and without videographers), and the resounding answer was that the video was one of their favorite keepsakes, or that they wished they had those memories of their day. We want to be able to cherish our day forever and remember everything we can about it, so it made sense to have a videographer to capture everything possible!

We cannot thank you enough for making sure everything we wanted out of our video was captured. Justin and I had a blast working with you, and we seriously just couldn’t say enough good things. We felt that you listened to what we wanted (mostly me!) and made it happen, and we just are so appreciative that we had you there to capture everything!
